Rabbi Haim Fabrizio Cipriani
Born in Genoa (Italy) in 1971, Rabbi Haim F. Cipriani embodies a unique blend of tradition and innovation. His path, like a symphony, weaves together threads of spirituality and music.
Rabbi Cipriani's rabbinical path is rooted in both Italian and chassidic tradition. He has studied at the Collegio Rabbinico Italiano under the guidance of Rav G. Laras and received the traditional orthodox ordination by the Ateret Tzvi Yeshiva, of Shlomo Carlebach's school, and by the New Yorker Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph H. Gelberman at the Rabbinical Seminary International.
In spite of his originally Orthodox training, his vision transcends orthodoxy. His heart beats for a post-modern Judaism that embraces all true seekers, trying to blend tradition and modernity.
From 2006 Rabbi Cipriani has been the former Rabbi of the first Progressive congregations in Italy, Milan and Rome, then in 2012 he stepped onto French soil, leading the Conservative/Masorti congregation in Marseille and the Progressive congregation in Toulouse.
In 2017, he planted seeds of inclusivity by founding the Conservative/Masorti congregation Etz Haim in Italy, a groundbreaking Jewish community that is open to individuals from all backgrounds and affiliations.
He is the author of numerous texts on Jewish spirituality and thought, from biblical and liturgical commentaries to Jewish law, history and ethics.

Beyond the pulpit, Rabbi Cipriani is also a talented musician. An internationally acclaimed baroque violinist and conductor, he has collaborated with some of the most prominent names in early music, including Jordi Savall, Marc Minkowski, and William Christie. He was a founding member of the Italian ensemble Europa Galante with Fabio Biondi and he is currently a member of Il Giardino Armonico. Rabbi Cipriani has performed concerts as soloist and chamber musician in the most renowned concert halls of the world, and recorded dozens of discs among which many unpublished works of the Baroque period, also playing in concert with the famous Cannone, the Guarnerius del Gesù which belonged to Niccolò Paganini.
Rabbi Cipriani teaches violin and baroque music at several Italian music academies, and his voice echoes in many European lecture halls, where he lectures on Jewish spirituality.
